H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, delivered a keynote address at the seminar titled “Thailand and Germany: Perspectives and Opportunities in the Indo-Pacific.” The event, held in Berlin, Germany, was co-organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Berlin and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), bringing together leaders and experts to discuss the evolving dynamics of the Indo-Pacific region.

In his speech, DPM/FM Parnpree emphasized the Indo-Pacific’s strategic importance for both Thailand and Germany. He highlighted the natural alignment between the two nations, which share a vision of a stable, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific. He also addressed the opportunities and challenges in the region and explored avenues for collaboration, both bilaterally—through efforts to establish a strategic partnership—and multilaterally, via regional frameworks such as ASEAN, ACMECS, BIMSTEC, and ACD.

During his visit, the Deputy Prime Minister held discussions with key German representatives, including Mrs. Petra Sigmund, Director-General of the Asia-Pacific Department of the Federal Foreign Office, and Mr. Gunther Krichbaum, Member of Parliament from the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group. He also engaged with members of Germany’s public, academic, and civil society sectors. These interactions reinforced Thailand’s readiness to deepen cooperation with Germany in areas of mutual interest, leveraging bilateral initiatives and regional mechanisms such as ASEAN.

The seminar underscored the strong and growing partnership between Thailand and Germany, with a shared focus on addressing regional challenges and fostering sustainable development. It further highlighted both countries’ commitment to contributing to a resilient, inclusive, and rules-based Indo-Pacific framework.
